Spotlight on Youth: Students brave cold to take advantage of outdoor winter sports

On a cold, frigid day, a group of students within the Anchorage School District strutted across the snow at Cuddy Park to take part in the 4th Annual Winter Jamboree. It's organized by the district's Health and P.E. Department as a way to encourage kids to get outdoors and participate in sports they might not otherwise get to do. Sports like broomball, curling, cross-country skiing, fat tire biking and speed-skating.

"This is my first time and it's really fun," said North Star Elementary student Keanna Gudu.

"The Alaska winter is my favorite," added Atticus Franklin.
