State culinary competition serves as qualifier for national cook-off

Sunday was a big day for some young Alaskan chefs, who competed in a state culinary and kitchen management kitchen that served as the qualifying round for the national ProStart Invitational in Washington, D.C.

The event is said to be "the country's premier high school competition focused on restaurant management and culinary arts."
