ANCHORAGE (KTUU) - Alaska State Troopers say a vehicle went off the roadway into a chest-deep slough on the Sterling Highway around Mile 52, prompting a brief road closure.
At around 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, trooper spokesperson Ken Marsh wrote that he expected the road to be closed for another 45 minutes while crews work to remove the vehicle.
He also said a dive team from Soldotna has been working on the scene.
Marsh says that the call came in around 7:30 a.m. this morning.
There is no word on the condition of the driver.
Mile 52 is just west of Cooper Landing near Gwin's Lodge.
