Storms approach Anchorage Thursday, bringing clouds and wind

ANCHORAGE (KTUU) - A lack of sunshine just might keep Anchorage out of the 50’s Thursday.

We start off partly sunny early on in the morning, but become more and more cloudy with a high of 48 degrees Thursday. Along with the clouds are 55 mph wind gusts along Turnagain Arm and higher elevations.

We will then drop down to 34 degrees Thursday night, hovering above freezing, with some rain chances after midnight. The winds will die down slightly, to 50 mph in those same areas.

Looking ahead into the week, there is a 70% chance of rain Friday, but a high of 48 degrees means it won't freeze on us.
