Temps in the 40's could mean rain, not snow, for Anchorage

ANCHORAGE (KTUU) - Monday our Anchorage temperatures will be near 40 degrees as we look at a 60 percent chance of rain or snow plus 30 mph wind gusts in higher elevations.

Our skies will be cloudy and temperatures near 30 degrees overnight with 25 mph wind gusts.

Then, skies will be partly sunny with temperatures in the mid 30's tomorrow with 25 mph wind gust along Turnagain Arm.

Looking ahead we will be in the mid 20's Tuesday night and back into the mid to upper 30's on Wednesday while under cloudy skies.

Iditarod Weather:

a] Shaktoolik 31/18 cloudy with a 40 percent chance of snow with winds out of the north at 15 mph. (Monday at 12:35 am)

b] Koyuk 27/14 cloudy with a 40 percent chance of snow with winds out of the north at 15 mph. (Monday at 1:00 pm)
