TRAFFIC: Multiple vehicle crash snarls traffic on the Glenn Highway
Traffic was brought to a standstill on one of Alaska's most high traffic highways on Wednesday afternoon, following a four-car pile-up.
According to the Department of Transportation, the crash happened at mile post 24 of the Glenn Highway near Thunderbird Falls.
The vehicles involved, according to a witness, were two trucks, an SUV, and a sedan. That witness saw people loaded into ambulances.
The Anchorage Police Department said the Glenn was shut down in both directions due to the accident, and subsequent injuries to those involved.
They later said that one lane was opened in either direction to allow traffic, although slowly, to proceed through the crash area.
