ANCHORAGE (KTUU) - Alaska State Troopers say a 17-year-old student from Toksook Bay was arrested for threatening "to shoot up the school" after being kicked out of the building.

On Friday morning, Toksook Bay School was put into lock-down for around an hour after the student made the threat. Local police contacted the teenager at his home and took him into custody "without incident" on behalf of the Department of Juvenile Justice.

The student faces one count of terroristic threatening in the second-degree. He will be transported to Bethel and remanded at the Bethel Youth Facility.

The incident comes one day after two 13-year-olds were arrested in Juneau for talking about bringing a gun to school and shooting people.
