ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) — Anchorage police have arrested a suspect in a homicide near a Mountain View gas station last month.
APD said Friday night that the Investigative Support Unit conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at Price and Thompson earlier in the afternoon, and homicide suspect Tierre Eady was a passenger in the vehicle. He was taken into custody and will be remanded on his warrant for the charges of Murder I and two counts of Murder II.
APD says that around 10:12 a.m. on Dec. 16, officers responded to the Holiday Station at 4627 Mountain View Dr. in reference to reports of shots fired.
Officers located a man who suffered life-threatening injuries from a gunshot wound. After attempting life-saving measures, the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. He was later identified as 42-year-old Jerry R. Sales.
Police initially named Eady as a person of interest, but later identified him as a suspect.
At the time of the original incident, police said the fatal shooting may have stemmed from some sort of altercation between the two men.
