ANCHORAGE (KTUU) - The University of Alaska has announced it's laying off human resource employees.
According the University's official website, all main campus and statewide human resource employees were given official layoff notice on May 6, taking effect on September 14.
This is a part of what they call “a system wide redesign of human resources functions into a unified office organized by areas of functional expertise.” The laid off employees will have the option to apply for positions within the redesign.
University officials say instead of having three sparate organizations, it will now have a new, single human resource organization.
