ANCHORAGE, (KTUU) - A Coast Guard aircrew medevaced a 55-year-old woman after she reportedly fractured her leg while hiking North Sister Mountain on Kodiak Island, Thursday.

The Kodiak Fire Department called in the Coast Guard at around 7 p.m., and an MH-60 Jayhawk Helicopter crew on a trainer flight diverted and responded.

In the video above you can see the crew hoist the hiker from near the mountain peak and take her to emergency medical personnel waiting at Kodiak Municipal Airport.

An on-scene fire department emergency medical technician put her leg in a splint, as well as helped her with the pain.
