Wasilla police arrest man at Sears after alleged burglary

ANCHORAGE (KTUU) - A 35-year-old Wasilla man was arrested Tuesday morning after police say he tripped an alarm at Sears and now faces charges of burglary, theft and criminal mischief.

The Wasilla Police Department says officers found James Leseman trying to exit the building.

Officers and Alaska State Troopers surrounded the building.

The large law enforcement presence sparked a lot of attention on social media.

Police say K9 Echo found Leseman and officers placed him in cuffs.

Multiple charges are pending including felony burglary, theft, and criminal mischief.

Police say that other charges may be added.
