Where to trick-or-treat around Anchorage on Halloween

ANCHORAGE (KTUU) Obviously the Halloween standby for kids and adults is to take to the streets going door to door to score candy, but there are some special events both outdoors and indoors in Anchorage for the kids.

If you're looking for a safe and warm place to trick-or-treat, "Malloween" might be the place for you.

Not only will stores at the Dimond Center hand out sweets, but all proceeds are going directly to the Red Cross of Alaska.

Malloween runs from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and costs $5 per child. Anyone who dresses up in a costume can ice skate for free.

Then there's the annual Zoo Boo from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. It's $10 per person, which gets you access to the whole zoo and a bonfire to warm up.

The Arctic Rec Center is hosting Halloween Happenings from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The event includes trick or treating, bounce houses, crafts, carnival games, a cakewalk, and the Tent of Terror for teens and adults. The cost is $7 for kids, $10 for teens, $12 for adults, and $40 for a family up to 6; one price covers the cost of the whole event, prizes, snacks, desserts, etc.
