UPDATE: 3:20 p.m.:
The Lucky Shot Trail Fire evacuation notice has been rescinded as of 3:15 p.m. but the fire remains active and threatening at least one structure according to Mat-Su Borough's Acting Director of Public Affairs Stefan Hinman.

Hinman says a wet line is in place around the fire with full containment.

Part of Pittman Road is closed in one direction at West Sunrise Drive while fire crews work to contain the Carriage Lane fire, which is currently 1.5 acres. Smoke jumpers have been deployed to assist Borough Mat-Su Central and West Lakes Fire Departments.

No structures are currently being threatened, according to the Borough.

The Mile 91 Parks Highway fire off Yancey and Merlin Drives is fully contained and crews have been released to assist with other actives fires.

Original story:

Three separate wildfires broke out in the Mat-Su Borough Saturday afternoon, one of which forced the evacuation of a residential neighborhood.

A wildland fire at milepost 90 of the Parks Highway near Talkeetna has reportedly been extinguished by fire crews.

Mat-Su Borough officials say that fire was caused by a downed powerline off Yancey Drive and Merlin Drive in Willow.

Fire crews will remain in the area for a few hours for mop-up operations.

Another fire about five acres in size broke out at milepost 71 of the Parks Highway near Lucky Shot Drive and Willow Creek Parkway in Willow.

Borough officials have issued a Notice of Evacuation for the area.

The Dept. of Transportation issued an alert warning drivers to expect delays due to poor air quality, flames next to the road, and emergency vehicles on the road.

Affected residents can go to the Willow United Methodist Church at 29286 Parks Highway. Red Cross and CERT teams will be on scene to provide assistance.

Division of Forestry and Borough fire teams are currently responding to the Lucky Shot fire with airborne assistance from smoke jumpers.

A third fire was reported near Pittman Road and Carriage Lane in Wasilla. It's not currently known how large that fire is or if any structures being threatened.

This is a developing story.
