JUNEAU, Alaska (KTUU) - A 40-year-old woman has been arrested for allegedly stabbing a man multiple times overnight in Juneau. The man was taken to a local hospital and is said to be in a stable condition after suffering serious injuries.

Lt. Krag Campbell, a public affairs spokesperson with the Juneau Police Department, writes that JPD received a 911 call around 3:00 a.m. for a disturbance at a residence in the 300 block of Gastineau Ave. "The caller reported the disturbance was between his neighbors, that it sounded to be physical, and that someone might have been stabbed," said Campbell.

Police responded and found a 28-year-old man bleeding from his torso and left arm. Melanie Whalen, 40, was also inside the property. Campbell writes that an investigation showed the disturbance was a domestic dispute. A knife was also found that police say was used in the assault.

Whalen was arrested for assault in the first degree, a Class A felony, taken to the Lemon Creek Correctional Center and held without bail.
