ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - The wetter weather causes the Division of Forestry to lift the burn suspension for the Matanuska-Susitna Valley at noon on Sunday.

Open debris burning and the use of burn barrels will be allowed with an Alaska Division of Forestry burn permit. During the burn suspension, the Division of Forestry did not allow any debris burning but small campfires and charcoal grills were allowed.

The burn suspension is not lifted for the Kenai Peninsula. Their forestry office will be evaluating the moisture levels up until Monday.

Burn permits are still required until the end of September.
