Juneau man shot by police, airlifted to Seattle

JUNEAU, Alaska (KTUU) - Juneau Police shot a man Saturday morning, according to a press release.

The release says the 38-year-old man was contacted by two JPD officers at about 4:19 a.m. near 16500 Oceanview Dr.

During the contact, one of the officers shot the man.

The man was first taken to Bartlett Regional Hospital, and then medevaced to Seattle.

JPD is expected to release more information at noon Saturday.

Neither police officer was injured. Their names will be withheld for 24 hours, the release said.
