Alaska Airlines Classic a homecoming for future UCLA Bruin Daishen Nix

(MGN)

ANCHORAGE (KTUU) - The Alaska Airlines Classic won’t be short on talent in 2020, with the tournament set to feature some of the best prep basketball talents from across Alaska, Florida, and Nevada.

This year’s field includes West, Juneau-Douglas, Dimond, Barrow, Colony, Trinity of Nevada, and East and Dillard out of Florida.

One of the biggest storylines, however, is five-star recruit Daishen Nix, who returns to Alaska after leaving to go play high school basketball for Trinity International High School in Las Vegas. If you need proof of his stellar skills, check out this YouTube video of Nix, just one of his highlight videos with millions of views - this one being a game last year against potential NBA top-five pick LaMelo Ball.

Nix is 6-foot-5 and 205 pounds, often compared to NBA great Jason Kidd, and sits atop the recruit list as the No. 1 point guard in the 2020 class power rankings. He will play for UCLA next season, but was also recruited by programs such as Maryland and Kansas before ultimately landing on UCLA.
