ANCHORAGE (KTUU) - The Rose Bowl has become a family tradition for the Killpatricks. The 2019 Grandaddy of Them All will feature Sean Killpatrick and the Oregon Ducks as they take on the University of Wisconsin. For the first time since 1992-93, a member of the Killpatrick family will play in the Rose Bowl.

The Killpatrick name is synonymous with football in West Anchorage. Sean’s uncle David Killpatrick was a standout athlete at West High School in the late 1980s and was inducted into the ASAA Hall of Fame in 2006. David would later play in multiple Rose Bowls as a member of the University of Washington football team from 1990-1995. In addition to David, Sean’s father Michael Killpatrick was also a standout athlete at West.

The Oregon roster also features Fairbanks cornerback Charles Sudduth who played two years of football at Lane Community College before transferring to the University of Oregon. The Rose Bowl kicks off at 1:00 p.m. on New Years Day. You can watch it on ESPN.
