ANCHORAGE (KTUU) - The college basketball world took notice Tuesday as Anchorage’s Daishen Nix committed to play basketball at UCLA via Instagram.
Daishen Nix is the top point guard of 2020 recruiting class. He was raised in Anchorage before moving to Las Vegas, where he plays at Trinity International High School.
A day before committing the 6-foot-5 point guard tweeted a list of five schools he was considering. In the mix were Kansas, Alabama, Kentucky and Maryland.
Picking my top 5 wasn’t easy . There are some good schools , with great coaching staffs that are being left off this list , Washington , Marquette , and Arizona , just to name a few . pic.twitter.com/yr8uM9dVVf— daishen (@djfromveg) August 20, 2019
Nix can’t sign his letter of intent until November, and is currently the first commit of new UCLA coach Mick Cronin's 2020 class.
