ANCHORAGE (KTUU) - Allie Ostrander continues to leave her mark on collegiate track, winning the Mountain West Female Athlete of the Year award for the third straight year.
She's the first athlete to ever win three years in a row, male or female.
The Kenai Central alum won her third straight 3,000 meter steeplechase national championship earlier this season, becoming the first woman to ever do that and only the 15th athlete to ever win three straight titles in any event in NCAA history.
She also set the indoor meet record for the Mountain West conference in the 5,000 meter race this season and was named the MW Indoor Track and Field Championships Outstanding Performer of the Meet.
Ostrander graduated this past May with a 4.0 and a degree in kinesiology. She now runs professionally for Brooks Running Company.
