ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - Alaska hockey fans woke up to an odd picture online Thursday morning, Anchorage’s Casey Bailey in goalie pads.
The former NHL forward suited up in goalie pads for the Bratislava Slovan of the Kontinental Hockey League, since their backup goalie Jakub Štěpánek is serving a 5-game suspension according to Complete Hockey News. On top of the suspension, Complete Hockey reported Slovan’s roster depth is very low due to injuries and finances and the team currently has just 15 skaters and 1 junior goalie.
