Anchorage goalie makes hockey Junior World Champs roster

Anchorage’s Isaiah Saville was one of 28 players named to the U.S. National Junior Hockey Team preliminary roster Monday.

A camp Dec. 16-17 in Plymouth, Mich., will determine the final 23-player roster that will represent the United States in the 2020 World Junior Championship from Dec. 26, 2019 - Jan. 5, 2020, in Ostrava and Trinec, Czech Republic.

Saville was drafted in the fifth round of the 2019 NHL draft by the Las Vegas Knights. Currently, the freshman at the University of Nebraska Omaha has a 5-4-2 record with a 2.96 goals-against average for the Mavericks.

The Anchorage goalie skated for

under 18 team last year during the World Junior A Challenge in Bonnyville, Alberta.
