Bartlett celebrates 50th, South & SoHi atop ASBN polls

ANCHORAGE (KTUU) - Bartlett High School will celebrate half of century of Football this Friday as they kick off against Chugiak Mustangs. Golden Bears Co-Head Coach John Jessen said all Bartlett Football Alumni will be recognized at halftime along with a celebration for 1989 & 2009 State Championship teams.

Friday’s game also marks the start of conference play as the Bears and Mustangs compete for a Chugach Conference title.

Bartlett is still looking for its first touchdown of the 2019 season after being shut out by South and Service. The Bears have been perennial contenders the past four seasons winning a state championship in 2017, plus two state semifinals appearances in 2018 and 2016.

The Mustangs have already doubled their win total from last season defeating Kodiak and Palmer.
