Mat-Su showdown headlines KTUU game of the week

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) — The KTUU Tailgate Tour is headed to the Mat-Su Valley for a showdown between Colony and Wasilla High School, kicking off Friday at 7 p.m. at Colony.

It’s been business as usual this season for the Knights, who've lost just one game to Bartlett High School, and are coming off a win over West High 24-19 last weekend.

The Knights have won more than five games every season since 2015, and look on pace to do it again this year led by the duo of Eric Christy and Zane Vrvilo.

The Warriors are coming off a conference victory over Juneau Unified last week, and are currently in fourth place in the Chugach Conference.

ASBN Week 6 Poll

There are just three weeks left in the Alaska High School Football season, and Week 6 looks to have major playoff implications with East and Bartlett kicking off in the Battle for the Boot.

East and Bartlett are not in the same conference this season, but many believe this game could be a preview of this year's state championship game. Thunderbirds have lost one game all season, to an out-of-state opponent, while Bartlett is currently undefeated.
