Greensboro, NC (KTUU) Some congratulations are in order for Delta-Junction's Hailey Williams.
The junior competed in the New Balance Outdoor National Track and Field Championships in Greensboro, North Carolina this weekend.
She posted a personal best time of 11.95 seconds in the 100 meter dash, taking second in her heat.
In the overall Emerging Elite category, Williams finished 9th, missing the finals by .03 seconds.
However, not bad for someone who only just started running the 100 meter race in February.
"It's absolutely phenomenal that I went to Nationals," Williams said.
Williams qualified for the national championship after she took first in the 100 meter at the Brian Young Invitational in Kodiak.
Up next, she says she's going to buckle down and continue to get better for next year.
