UAA volleyball's Eve Stephens was named the 2018 GNAC Freshman of the Year on Tuesday.

The Palmer local led UAA with 3.18 kills per set and ranked third on the team in blocks with 0.76 per set.

She broke a freshman record with a .330 attack percentage and had double-figure kills in 15 of the last 20 matches.

She ranks 6th all-time in the conference after racking up 21 kills against UAF, which produced a .656 attack percentage. That's the best ever for a Seawolf in 17 years of GNAC play.

Seniors Chrisalyn Johnson and Tara Melton nabbed honorable mentions on the 2018 All GNAC team.
