Fairbanks skier Kendall Kramer makes history, medals at Winter Youth Olympics


ANCHORAGE (KTUU) - Fairbanks Kendall Kramer became the first American female to win a medal at the Winter Youth Olympics in an individual event for cross-country skiing.

Kramer took third in the women's 5-kilometer classic in a time of 14:36.3.

Fellow American Will Koch etched his name in the records books as well, earning bronze with a third-place finish in the men's 10-kilometer race.

The winter games wrap up in Switzerland on Wednesday.
