NOME, Alaska (KTUU) - In his first extensive television interview after winning the 2019 Iditarod. Peter Kaiser says the impact of being the first Yup'ik Iditarod champion is still sinking in, and he thanks all of his fans in Western Alaska who traveled to Nome to witness his historic finish.

"Coming here and being able to see that crowd last night, even if it was 30th or 40th place, to see that many people show up and fly in from Bethel ... is something super-special, something I'll never forget," Kaiser said.
