Iditarod early signups close and field is starting to come together

ANCHORAGE (KTUU) - The field is closer to being set for the 2019 Iditarod.

After extending the signup deadline by a day due to Friday's earthquake, the early window for signing up for the 2019 Iditarod has officially closed.

However, mushers can still sign up until food drops happen on February 14. But now, according to Rule 2, there's a price hike. Mushers will now have to pay an additional $4,000 on top of the $4,000 dollars needed to originally enter.

With that in mind, here are the 55 mushers signed up for this year's race:

The 2019 Iditarod will start with the ceremonial start in downtown Anchorage March 2, 2019 at 10 a.m.
