Seattle NHL has named its new general manager.
Ron Francis, who spent time with the Hartford Whalers, the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Carolina Hurricanes, will help launch the new hockey team in 2021.
"It's been kind of a whirlwind here the last few weeks but I'm looking forward to sort of getting my feet on the ground and getting involved in the community, because I think its very important for us to give back," Francis said.
CEO Todd Lieweke says having Francis as GM is a dream come true.
""We realized a couple weeks ago, my gosh, the guy wants to do this. It was really like a dream come true. To have a guy of this pedigree, history, captain of three teams," Lieweke said with a smile.
