NYO 2019 wraps up with one foot high kick and seal hop

Anchorage The 2019 Native Youth Olympics wrapped up with the completion of the one foot high kick and the seal hop.

Starting off the final day was the Indian Stick Pull and taking the win for the boys is Ilire Dementieff from Mat-Su.

For the girls it was Unalaska freshman Shanelle Palma.

"It feels really good. I kind of doubted myself, like I got it generally and picked it up really quickly. I was so nervous, this is my first time competing," Palma said with a giggle.

In the one foot high kick, John Villena soared to high heights, winning with a kick of 104 inches.

Over in the girls category, that belongs to Emily King from FH Collins/Whitehorse with a kick of 88 inches.

In the final event, the seal hop, the win for the boys belongs to Tristan Anaver from Lower Kuskokwim School District, who hopped 188 feet.

The win for the girls belongs to Adeline Dyment from Mt. Edgecumbe with a hop of 145 feet and 3 inches.
