Ostrander wins back-to-back NCAA 3000 meter steeplechase titles

Eugene,OR Back-to-back champion has a nice ring to it, doesn't it?

That's exactly what Allie Ostrander is, defending her title in the women's 3,000 meter steeplechase race at the NCAA track and field championships.

Ostrander ran a time of 9 minutes, 39 point 28 seconds.

She becomes the second woman to win back to back NCAA steeplechase titles, joining Jenny Simpson who won in 2008 and 2009. She's also the first woman in NCAA history to win back-to-back steeplechase titles in underclass seasons.

Ostrander also ran the 5000 meter race, placing 8th with a time of 15 minutes, 46 point 50 seconds.
