Petit wins third straight Willow 300

ANCHORAGE (KTUU) - Early Saturday morning Girdwood Musher Nic Petit won his third straight Willow 300 crossing the finish line at Sheep Creek Lodge with nine dogs. Brenda Mackey took second place arriving shortly after Petit.

This was the first Willow 300 since 2019 when the race was canceled due to warm, wet, weather. The 300-mile, three-day mid-distance race is among the events long-distance mushers use to qualify for the Yukon Quest and the Iditarod.
