SNOWMASS, Colo. (KTUU) - The door is closing, and Olympic athletes are finding out if they’re in or out of the 2018 Olympic winter games. Alaskan snowboarder Ryan Stassel is still looking to punch his ticket to Pyeongchang.
Stassel scored a 76.5 at the U.S. Grand Prix event in Snowmass, Colo. today, which was the second-best U.S. score of the day.
The Anchorage snowboarder will compete again on Friday in the Slopestyle finals. You can watch that from 5:30-7:00 p.m. on NBC Sports Network.
The good news: Stassel is guaranteed a Top-3 finish among Americans since only three qualified.
This also helps Stassel earn points toward the top four spots for the U.S. team. Currently, he sits as the eighth-ranked snowboarder in U.S. slopestyle selection rankings. For a list of the full selection rankings you can click here.
