ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) — Not even a month into her first year of college, and UAA volleyball’s Eve Stephens is doing things Seawolf fans have never seen on the volleyball court.
This week she was recognized as player of the week at both the conference and national level. The 6-foot-1 middle blocker from Palmer was named AVCA Div. II national player of the week, and is just the third player in program history to earn such honor.
Stephens turned heads after notching 55 kills over three matches. She had a .656 attack percentage against in-state rival UAF. That’s the best attack percentage in school history and ranks 6th all-time in GNAC history.
UAA continues their road trip this week, taking on Simon Fraser Thursday, and Western Washington Saturday.
