Tailgate tour heads to Kodiak for Week 5 of prep football

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) — The KTUU Tailgate Tour is headed to Kodiak for week five of the prep football season, where the Bears will be hosting Lathrop for a non-conference Division II match up.

The Malamutes are currently two and one on the season defeating Kenai and Dimond to start the season before losing to Soldotna in Week 3.

The Bears are one and two on the season, defeating Homer before losing its next two games to Wasilla and Eagle River.

ASBN Week 5 Poll

As we enter the second half of the prep football season, the Alaska Sports Broadcasting Polls seem to have less surprises. Bartlett and East are cementing their spots at the top of the Division I poll, while Service made strides shutting out West, putting them into third place.

In the small schools poll, Soldotna is back on top for the first time since Week 1 of the season. According to KSRM, since losing their first game, the Stars have averaged over 55 points per game against two unbeaten teams. Meanwhile, SoHi defeated West Valley 62-18, and will face number two Eagle River this weekend.
