UAA assistant leaves hockey team shortly after being hired

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) — Tuesday the UAA Athletic Department confirmed that Dana Borges has left the school’s hockey team as an assistant coach for "another opportunity."

Borges was hired under new head coach Matt Curley this summer, and joined the staff after spending time as an assistant at Williams College in Massachusetts. Before that, he spent time as an assistant at Colgate University.

He graduated from Stonehill College in 2013, where he coached shortly after finishing up his career.

UAA says it is currently working to replace him. The Seawolves' season begins on September 28 with an exhibition game against Simon Fraser University.
