ANCHORAGE (KTUU) - The University of Anchorage Alaska named Greg Myford as its new athletic director on Wednesday.
According to a press release sent out by the university, interim chancellor Samuel B. Gingerich is confident about leaving the reins of athletics in Myford's hands.
"Greg is accomplished in shaping programs for success, adapting to where athletics is going, and his wealth of experience in promotion, marketing and fundraising will be critical to shaping our Seawolf future,” Gingrich said.
Myford has been at IMG College since 2013. While there, he was responsible for the design and management of multimedia rights agreements and corporate sponsorships for a number of prominent universities, including Florida State.
He will begin his duties as athletic director on July 31.
