Anchorage (KTUU) The season is just a little over a week away but the honors are already coming in for two UAA volleyball players.
Senior Chrisalyn Johnson and sophomore Casey Davenport have been named to the GNAC's preseason All-Conference volleyball team.
Johnson was one of four unanimous selections in voting by the league's 11 head coaches. She was an honorable mention All-GNAC performer in 2017. Johnson ranked 12th in the league in both kills (3.05) and points (3.55) per set.
Davenport is the reigning GNAC Freshman of the Year and is only one of three sophomores to be named to the preseason squad. She took over as UAA's starting setter midway through last season, and put up big numbers, averaging 10.06 assists, 0.94 digs and 3.34 kills per set.
UAA makes its season debut in an exhibition game this Saturday against Seawolf volleyball alumni.
