UAA vollyeball falls to Western Washington in opening round of NCAA tournament

RIVERSIDE, CA (KTUU) The defending West Region champs tried to stay with Western Washington, but after the nationally ranked Vikings pulled away in the 3rd set, it was curtains for the Seawolves.

Western Washington took the first set 26-24 but UAA battled back and tied the match at 1 set all, taking the second.

The Seawolves had the lead early in the third, but the Vikings came back with a vengeance, went on a 10-2 run and closed out the third set, winning 25-18. Western Washington never looked back, winning the 4th set and match 25-18 as well.
Seawolves juniors Chrisalyn Johnson and Leah Swiss gave their team a double-double each.

With this win, Western Washington's win streak increases to 20 and they advance to the regional semifinal on December 2nd against Northwest Nazarene.

UAA finishes the season with a record of 19-11.
