ANCHORAGE (KTUU) - The University of Alaska Anchorage women's basketball team lost to Northwest Nazarene 70-64 in the GNAC Conference Championship Saturday.
The Seawolves found themselves in trouble early trailing by 11 points at half time. In true Mayhem fashion UAA went on a 6-0 run to start the third quarter, and got their first lead in the fourth quarter. Northwest Nazarene would pull away in the final minutes of the game.
Saturday's loss breaks the Seawolves 21-game winning streak dating back to Dec. 18, 2018. UAA's only two losses this season have come courtesy of NNU. Despite losing their chance at an automatic bid into the NCAA Div. II women’s basketball tournament, many feel their no. 2 rank in the Western region locks them in for an at-large berth.
