Fairbanks (KTUU) -- The West Anchorage Eagles girls team captured its 5th straight state cross country skiing title this weekend, while the West Valley boys swooped in for the title over West.
The Wolfpack really cemented their victory with the 4x5 km relay, winning with a time of 59:00.8 over West's time of 59:15.9.
For the girls, the Eagles had a great start to their state weekend with dominating performances in the interval and mass starts and then really bringing it home with the 4x3 km relay. They won with a time of 36:36.2 over West Valley's 36:57.1.
In the individual races, West Valley's Kendall Kramer swept both the 7.5 k race and the 5 k race. For the boys, it was South's Zander McMullen who swept 7.5 k and the 10 k races.
