William Ross wins 2018 Alaskaman Triathlon

Girdwood (KTUU) The Alaskaman Extreme Triathalon is finished.

Your winner is William Ross, who won with a time of 11:33:06.

Competitors swam 2.6 miles in pretty cold temperatures, around 50-54 degrees, then took a 113-mile bike ride with an elevation rise of 4,635 feet and then ran a marathon with a gain in elevation of 7,000 feet.

Ross said he had mixed feelings about the course.

"It definitely had a lot of highs and a lot of lows, on like every discipline," Ross said with a smile. "The swim, it was so cold. Definitely had a couple of panic moments in the first, 15 to 20 minutes."
