Wonders & Swirbul claim national titles in classic sprint

ANCHORAGE (KTUU) - On the final day of racing at the 2020 U.S. Cross Country Ski Championships Alaska Pacific University skiers Hailey Swirbul and Hunter Wonders won national titles in the classic sprint.

Swirbul won the women’s classic sprint in 4:41.79 and claimed her third title at 2020 nationals. Canada’s Julien Locke won the men’s classic sprint in 4:03.83 and Wonders took second place overall with a time of 4:05.75.

Since Wonders was the top American finisher he’s considered the U.S. champion.
