Hospice collects drawings and letters for patients during pandemic

Hospice of Anchorage is caring for their fragile patients from a distance through phone and video calls. They needed a way to reach out to them without sending someone to a patients home. "We're coming up with ways that we we're going to be able to reach out to our patients without going into their homes," said Amy Tribbett, the nonprofit's executive director. "We've received well over 200 pictures from all throughout the state of Alaska, from Tennessee from Hawaii. So its been a true, unexpected joy."

Equine therapy paused in 2020

Equine Assisted Therapy Alaska's annual clean-up day typically takes place in spring and is a day of visiting with the horses, maintaining ranch supplies, clearing trails and preparing for the summer. Sadly with the 2020 program canceled and the horses absent due to the pandemic, clean-up day was also a time for volunteers to find closure and to share their anticipation of the 2021 summer program.
